Karel Eliáš

Karel Eliáš is a leading Czech lawyer, university lecturer, and the main author of the current Civil Code, which has fundamentally influenced the modern form of Czech private law. His work represents one of the most significant legislative achievements of recent decades and has contributed to the renewal of legal culture, an emphasis on moral principles, and the strengthening of the rule-of-law values. Eliáš has long been associated with Palacký University as a member of the Scientific Council of the UP Faculty of Law and a member of the disciplinary council of its doctoral program.
